Sim for Yes? Vote should be a boolean property.

Shouldn't the vote property just be a boolean yes/no? When we have international versions of Freebase, including Portugese, the 'sim' will replace the 'yes'.

Well, I think it cannot be a boolean because there are at least 5 different values for a vote on the brazilian congress: yes, no, abstention, obstruction and art.17 (see the vote types list http://www.freebase.com/view/user/fabricio/brazilian_government/brazilian_governmental_vote_type ). And this number can potentially grow as well…

But I don't know, I am open for suggestions, the schema is still a draft, how do you suggest we tackle this different type of votes issue?

Sorry, should have looked deeper in, enumeration appears to be the corect choice for a limited but fixed set of choices.

              Looking good, by the way.

              Thanks!

One possible improvement in the current setup would be to merge the individual topics "Sim" and "Não" with the main Yes/No freebase entries if they exist, since it is the same thing :)

Yes, please! I realize that many of your potential contributors are Brazilian, but an English speaker interested in Brazilian politics should still be able to see that João is a Politician who voted Yes on this bill. Ditto for absentention and obstruction (and Art. 17); these are language-independent concepts which have both Portuguese and English names.

We may need a new type for political vote; that could be interesting.

Up until the moment of this post, this domain had 323 brazilian politicians, most of the added people are Federal Deputies, since I have started populating with the politicians that voted in favor of the CSS tax and after that the ones who voted in favor of the "Lei Seca" bill.

So, only part of the 430 are currently on the database, we still need to add to the list the remaining people that have voted against, or abstained on both the CSS tax and the "Lei Seca" bill, since chances are that this people are not currently on Freebase at all.

If you want to contribute, the list of voters for that 2 particular decisions can be found here and here. Having "Brazilian Politician" entries for the whole congress  would be very cool, we are halfway there =)

            -----

Hi, welcome to my personal Brazilian Government domain.

This is an experiment with brazilian politicians on Freebase, it is still very beta and under construction, the schemas for Brazilian Politician, Brazilian Governmental Votes and other related types are still not mature and accepting suggestions and feedback.

The goal here is to collect facts and data about the congressmen, senators and other important figures of the Brazilian Republic, as well as generate a database with the important recent decisions in a way that it can be useful to others in the future regardless of the orientation or preference. This is suppose to be a repository of facts only, not political discussion.
